making a weather map and give a weather presentation like on TV, reporting a storm report as if you are on TV, all kinds of ideas or optional.

***WE WILL HAVE A CLASS DISCUSSION WITH ANY IDEAS:

1.  We will work on this in class the as much as possible.  Rest is on your own time.  You must work hard in class this week

****** Final Review over weather topics shown below :

Thunderstorms----= usually form into thunderhead clouds and have heavy rain, thunder and lightning.  Most thunderheads form on hot summer afternoons or along a cold front area, sometimes also with hail.

Picture
Hail---= round pellets of ice also called hailstones.  Starts as ice inside a cold region of a cloud.  A strong updraft will move the ice and later they get heavy enough to fall to the ground.

Picture
freezing rain- = sometimes raindrops fall through cold air near the ground but don t freeze as they go in the air.  Biggest danger is a ice storm!
Picture
Tornado or tornadoes = violent storms of rapid whirling funnels that might touch down over land or water.  They might touch down for as long as 15 minutes with wind speeds over 100 to close to 200 mph.(F-4, F-5)
Kentucky storm
Picture
Typhoons = those hurricanes that happen in Asia or the Pacific rim
they are as violent as any forms on Earth due to extreme heavy rains due to closeness to our Equator and huge volume of ocean water (Pacific )

10 000 die in typhoon
Picture
BLIZZARD and snowbound:   during long periods of snow accumulation up to over 1-3 feet of snow.  **major winds create those big drifts
Picture
Avalanche =  large movemet of snow off deep / steep edges of mountain ridges.  Due to changes in weather and extreme heat increase of sunshine to soften heavy snow.  ***very dangerous to those skiing or hiking in winter
avalanches
Picture
tornado alley (page 83)---cold, dry air of Canada will move south into the warm, moist air Gulf of Mexico.  This leads to high chances of fall / spring storms across the "Midwest"

FAMOUS MOVIE --TWISTER gave us the "storm-chasers" knowledge of news people.
cows flying across bridge
BELOW IS THE COMPLETE MOVIE "TWISTER" FOR FREE
Twister movie
All of you are so lucky for having me as your "science guy" teacher !!!!!!!!!    Enjoy the movie, its a fun ride in storms!!!!
Picture
Sandstorms = due to violent wind storms in desert regions around the World, such as ARIZONA there will be sudden movement of sand into large areas of desert.
