Pluto was questioned to still be a planet in

2005 due to some new finding of large

object orbiting Neptune or in the edge of our Solar System .

Picture
Picture
Pluto appears to have 5 moons that

orbit it.   Thus, to me I m thinking its still kind of a planet.

The largest moon is called Charon, but it is small and only about 1/6 the mass of our Moon

Picture
1.  Pluto is now called a dwarf planet or a fun name I like ------a plutoid.

2. Its mostly made of ice and rock, so I agree its kind of an asteroid

3. It has a very unique and weird orbit.   At times it will get closer to the Sun than Nepture

but it also will be much farther away than any of the other planets

***we say it is as close as 30 A.U.  ( 30 x 93 million miles)
    and as far away as 49 A.U. ( 49 x 93 million miles)--

You do the Math----but its a weird ---eccentric orbit for sure

Some facts or math about Pluto:

1. Pluto is almost 40 A.U's from the Sun ( 40x 93 million)--------  way out there !!!!!!

2.  On average it takes Pluto 248 years to orbit the Sun

3.  Has at least 3 moons, maybe 5 or more?

4. Its spins slow ( takes 6.4 days for just one rotation)

5. Is diameter or size is smaller than Mercury
    or
