Summary of Time Zones and International Dateline: 



1. USA - has 4 main time zones
              called: Eastern, Central,
                         Mountain, Pacific

               with Alaska 1 time zone
               west of California and 

               Hawaii 2 time zones west.

2.  If its 1:00 PM----- New York City
              Noon-------Chicago
               11:00 AM ------ Denver
               10:00 AM ------ San Diego
                 9:00 AM--------Alaska

                 8:00 AM--------Hawaii

        ** in Arizona = no daylight savings in the summer, so Arizona
is the same as Pacific Time Zone

     *** but in regular -standard time
  Arizona is the same as Mountain Zone states during the winter. 

Daylight Savings time = when a time zone will change and move-up the time to ONE TIME ZONE. 

    ( IN THE SPRING-MOVE UP)
    ( IN THE FALL - MOVE TIME BACK)



3.  World has 24 time zones

4.  International Dateline = in western Pacific Ocean.

a.  First start of each new day begins first to countries "just west of the International Dateline. 

b.  New Year DAY first starts in ( New 
    Zealand, Australia, Japan, Asia )

c. ****if you cross the "Dateline" from 
     East to West = a new day

    **** if you cross the "Dateline" from
     West to East = "the day before
"
