Lab instructions for Thursday and Friday, August 28-29

1.  from our school scale stand and record your weight
2.  Now determine your weight on the following areas:
***you will be using a site online to help you find out:

Friday, Aug. 29th--due end of class in your journal:

 A.  go to this location------- www.exploratorium.edu/ronh/weight/

**or simple type on a google search-- " your weight on other planets"

You ll find several planets and the Moon:

**list 6 of them:   on Earth you weigh = _____________
the Moon? ________ and four other places please list your weight on those
1._______2._______3. ___________4.________5.______6._________

B. lets look at your weight on Earth/  but in a couple different places

1.  your weight on a mountain area: ---your weight will be bit less

*** the theory is that you would be about 1-5% less weight

@ now you will take your normal weight--- X multiply times >  .03

and take that answer and subtract from your normal  weight

((  that is your new weight on a mountain top ) )

2.  Lets look at your weight on a sea floor/ coastal area like Miami

*** your weight will be a bit more at sea level   ( about 3-5 % more)

do same steps but add the additional weight gain to normal weight

(( that becomes your new heavier weight on a Miami beach ))

Weight on mountain =  ________sea level =________

C.  Final assignment for first journal collected:
****use my lesson icon and draw / label the 8 phase of Moon

BE SURE TO DATE THIS LAB ACTIVITY IN YOUR JOURAL/  TURN IN FRIDAY
